CLEANING THE SLIPWAY

Even at his time of year the harbour is being well used by divers & fisherman, so hopefully for the last time this year, we are cleaning the slipway

Joe took the first turn using the pressure washer to clean the surface.

Meanwhile, Mick took the opportunity to collect seaweed for the garden, it was very handy close to the slip.

Eva the Greyhound watched on with Joanne the photographer.
In the background is a lady from China, who came all the way to the North of Scotland to do the North Coast 500.

Unfortunately, before we had finished the job, the hose sprung a leak.
So it could be fishing tomorrow while the weather is good.

JUNIPER

The photo shows a splendid Juniper at the top of the track to the Harbour, on the north side of the burn.
Juniper is scarce in Caithness but Dunnet Head has a scattered population which Caithness Biodiversity Group aims to expand by growing plants from local seed.

On Sunday 4th November the Caithness Countryside Volunteers planted over 100 seedlings at Burifa Hill and other locations.
